Setting Off
Just a pause for a night cat, who I photographed the evening of the previous entry:

Dawn on the way out of Pamplona:

If you can squint you can see how looking east off a bridge earlier, the sky looked exactly like the cover of Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent town. Sadly, there was too much light from the freeway below for me to get a good shot of it.
The sculpture at Alto del Perdon:

The cairn you can see on the left is to memorialize everyone who dies coming down the insanely cut steps behind it:

The namesake of Puente La Reina as I left town:

After this, things went a bit off the rails. I was hoping to stop in the next town, but the albergue therein was closed, and the town after was having some kind of local festival and was too chaotic to navigate. I ended up really walking myself into the ground. I ended up in a town called Lorca.

So yesterday and today have been short walks (11 and 12.5 mi. respectively.) Saturday started strong with another night cat.

Later I came upon these charmers, who were taking turns chasing a leaf.

This fella was guarding his ditch outside Estella:

While everyone loves a fantastically intricate portico, I like to pause and appreciate a simple rustic example as well.

Who doesn't love an ominous derelict hotel?

I call this one Geiger for Optimists:

Last night I stayed in a town called Villamayor de Monjardin. Here is its steeple from the albergue balcony:

There was a massive thunderstorm overnight. I opted to admire it rather than looking for good actions shots. Disculpeme.
Today was drizzly, but the torrents from last night has eased up.
Huddle a doorway with the rain dogs
For I am a rain dog too

Santa Maria de los Arcos:

More scenery on the way to a town called Sansol:

Now I'm in a town across a river from Sansol called Torres del Rio, where I have not yet taken any pictures. I'm trying to figure out how I can get manageable posts out of the steady stream of shots I can't help but take because it really is quite dramatic.
